Executive Trainee - Shanghai or Beijing

Job Description: Assist in managing the Pao Principle’s proprietary panel of high net worth Mainland China luxury buyers The Pao Principle, has assembled a proprietary panel of over 400 Mainland Chinese high net worth individuals in order to gauge their attitude and usage of luxury goods and beauty products. Importantly, all panelists were recruited and screened by Pao Principle associates. Data is collected through in-person and on-line surveys. The Pao Principle will publish its annual findings in its China Luxury Panel- Luxury Goods study in October 2009. Additionally, the Pao Principle will be fielding its Mainland China buyer beauty study in January 2010.

  • Help continue to recruit desired/target panelists
  • Assist in managing and updating proprietary database
  • Assist in creating content designed to attract and retain Mainland China panelists
  • Translate all documents from Mandarin to English and back
  • Help to update and maintain the China Luxury Panel website
  • Other works relating to the China Luxury Panel Project
  • Administrative work around the office
  • Intern must bring own laptop to and from the office.

Desired skill set:

  • Native-born or graduated from University/College in a first-tier Chinese city, e.g., Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chongqing and Chengdu
  • Excellent in Mandarin, both oral and written
  • Fluent in English
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing and communications including social and viral marketing
  • Familiarity with web-design tools, or an interest in learning
  • Possess a ‘can do’ attitude to do ‘whatever is takes’ to get the job done
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Office
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Resourceful, quick learner who always takes the initiative
